Supported Upgrades

Direct upgrades, 1.8.x to the latest version for example are not supported, instead the CMS must be upgraded to the last available release for each major version to ensure the incremental changes are added to your installation.

For example, if you are using a 1.8.6 CMS and want to upgrade to v4.x you will need to upgrade via the following route:

• 1.8.6 to 1.8.13
• 1.8.13 to 2.3.16
• 2.3.16 to 3.3.12
• 3.3.12 to 4.0.15
• 4.0.15 to 4.x

Make a backup of your CMS media library and database before each upgrade is attempted. Once an upgrade is complete, test the CMS to make sure there are no issues before proceeding to the next version upgrade.
