You will need

Install the Player App

  • Plug the Amazon Signage Stick into the HDMI port of the screen

  • Download and open the Amazon Signage Mobile IOS App store/Play Store

  • Log into the app with your Amazon account to automatically create a company/organisation as an admin user

  • Follow the onboarding process and enter the pairing code shown on the screen

  • Select the Xibo option from the CMS dropdown menu

The screen will display instructions on how to connect your CMS after installation has successfully completed

Connect to the CMS

  • Login to the CMS and navigate to the Displays page

  • From the Amazon Signage App, select Use Code to show a 6 character activation code

  • From the Displays page in the CMS, select the Add Display button at the top of the grid

  • Enter the activation code as shown on the Player screen

  • Click to Save

The Activate Player page will automatically close once successfully connected.

Authorise the Display

  • From the CMS, navigate to the Displays page

  • Use the row menu for the newly registered entry and select Authorise

  • Click Yes to confirm

If you are on a Xibo Plan, the Display is now ready to start showing content from the Xibo CMS

If you have purchased a licence separately, follow the steps to licence your Display.

Licence your Display

For customers not on a Xibo plan, a Licence code must be provided in order for the Display to start showing content:

  • Navigate to the Display Settings page from the main CMS menu

  • Select the row menu for the appropriate Display Profile and click Edit

  • Provide the Licence Code in the form field

  • Click to Save

The Display is now ready to start showing content from the Xibo CMS.

RDM for the Amazon Signage Stick

Integration with the Amazon Signage Stick allows users to take advantage of advanced remote device management capabilities.

Once set-up, use the following guidance to utilise RDM capabilities from inside the CMS using Commands.

Skip the Add Commands section if you already have commands created for Android devices.

Add Commands to the CMS

  1. Go to Commands under the Displays section of the main CMS menu

  2. Click the Add Command button

  3. Give the Command a Name

  4. Enter a Code (such as the command string) to easily identify

  5. Use the Command drop down field and select Free Text

  6. Enter a Command String

  7. Click to Save

Send Command from the CMS

  1. Navigate to Displays from the main CMS menu

  2. Use the row menu for a Display and select Send Command

  3. Use the drop down menu to select the command to use

  4. Click to Save

Schedule Command

  1. Navigate to Schedule from the main CMS menu

  2. Click the Add Event button

  3. Use the Event Type drop down and select Command

  4. Select the command to use from the list

  5. Click Next and set the Displays

  6. Click Next and set timings

  7. Click Finish if no further actions (such as Repeats) are required

Additional RDM Functionality

Further remote device management capabilities can be found from the Displays page of the CMS.

Identify your Display

Use the row menu for a Display and select Edit to view the Display Hardware Key

Capture MAC address

Shown in the MAC address column of the Displays grid

Capture IP address

Shown in the IP address column of the Displays grid

Use the row menu and click Request Screen Shot. On saving, an Image will be retrieved and shown in the Thumbnail column of the Displays grid.
