# Upgrading your Xibo Cloud Hosted CMS

The CMS can be upgraded to later versions to take full advantage of all new features and the latest bug fixes.

{% hint style="warning" %}
We recommend that all users should upgrade when possible to the most current release. Prior releases are supported for a time after the release of a new major version.
{% endhint %}

Request an upgrade from **My Account**, by clicking the row menu button at the end of the CMS instance row, and then select **Upgrade**.

The CMS can be set to automatically upgrade to new minor versions using the row menu and clicking on **Settings**:

* **Auto update in Series** - tick to automatically upgrade the CMS Instance as new minor versions become available for the CMS.
* **Renew** - tick to renew this CMS instance when it expires.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.xibosignage.com/upgrading-the-cms/upgrading-the-cloud-cms.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
